Condition/Diagnosis: Benign Peripheral Nerve Tumor
Overview: This type of tumor occurs on the peripheral nerves (located on the spinal column). Peripheral nerves are responsible for regulating and operating basic mechanical tasks, such as walking, blinking, and grabbing things. This tumor while not typically cancerous can interfere with these functions.
-Lump in body
-Tingling and Numbness
Treatments: In some cases this tumor does not need to be removed as long as it is not cancerous, which can be determined through various imaging dates and monitoring of the tumor. If it does grow and becomes cancerous it can be removed by a surgeon with experience removing tumors of this type.
