About the Doctor

Dr. Peter Syre has always been interested in the neurosciences and studied it extensively.  He has also always found a need to volunteer and served in the Peace Corps in South America before beginning medical school.  With this background, while in medical school he became fascinated with the intricacies of the nervous system and the complex bioengineering involved in the anatomy of the brain and the spine. The precise nature of neurosurgery is a very rewarding practice.  Dr. Syre completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania where he pursued further fellowship training in the treatment of spinal disorders. He has a great interest in spinal scoliosis, spinal trauma, and tumors of the spine in addition to the breadth of neurosurgical diseases.   He believes that the key to exemplary neurosurgical treatment is patient centered care where each treatment is individualized and each patient is treated as a person, not a disease.  With this mindset, patients can have the best outcomes possible and both he and his patients can accomplish their ultimate goal, regaining their life.

When not at work Dr. Syre loves to spend time with his wife and 2 children, exploring and hiking all of the parks Colorado has to offer and riding his bike.
